There are multiple studies available on the health hazards of compact fluorescent lighting (CFL) due to the high amounts of mercury involved in those bulbs. CFL bulbs also radiate a significant amount of UV and InfraRed radiation which can be damaging to the skin.
On the contrary, LED lights contain no mercury, no lead, and have no radiation harmful to the body.
