Story

This is my favourite hands-free Device
It is a "Green" device because you can attach it to your windshield to be solar charged. You will never need to plug it in to charge.

I attached it to the upper left of my windshield (see pictures) , where your auto service often puts a sticker reminding you of your next service date. It is quite small and does not block your view.

To make a call from your iPhone 3GS, just push the button to initiate Voice Control and initite your call. To end the call, push the button once more. If you can't get voice control to work, purchase the "mfavorites photo dialer" from the app store for $.99. To place a call, click "mfavorites" on your iPhone, and then press the photo of the number you are calling. If you have 3.1 installed, you only need to press the photo once (no confirmation prompt).

Unlike the Callview/Cellex/Chat-u, this hands-free is LOUD - You will need to turn DOWN the volume a bit. Unlike many other visor units, this unit announces the incoming caller, and all other options, in a loud voice prompt. Do not buy a unit where you need to read a small display screen while driving.

Unlike other units, this kit automatically turns off if it looses the connection for more than 10 minutes (you left your car).

Models:

The SolChat original does not allow you to upload your contacts from your iPhone. When a call comes in, SolChat announces the phone number calling ie. "Call from 555-1212"

The SolChat2 allows you to upload your contacts from your iPhone. When a call comes in, SolChat2 announces the caller by name ie. "Call From Jim Moore Mobile"

Best Speakerphone

This is the best speakerphone I've ever tried. I've never had to plug it in since the solar panel keeps it fully charged. Call quality is clear and loud. It also speaks the caller ID of incoming calls and works with iPhone Voice Control. Great product and I highly recommend it for any one who whats to be safe answering calls while driving.
