Handmade earrings from Kenya made with handmade beads. Kazuri is a member of the World Fair Trade Organisation. (WFTO)

Kazuri, which means “small and beautiful” in Swahili, began in 1975 as a tiny workshop experimenting on making ceramic beads made by hand.

Mark and Regina Newman purchased the company in 2000 and Kazuri now employs over 340 women, mostly single mothers, and supports several community organisations and local Kenyan Charities.
