Ethical Ocean believes in creating a marketplace that allows our community to learn about and purchase products according to their values. But sometimes, knowing which products live up to their claims and linking those claims to our values can be very difficult. The issues are generally more complex then a simple "ethical or not" and finding consistent and reliable information is tricky.

Ethical Faceoffs is a section of Ethical Ocean where we invite our community of buyers and sellers to explore important issues. The overall goal is to "crowd source" the collective knowledge of our community to help people make purchases consistent with their values. We invite you, our community, to engage with us. Post opinions, questions, links to additional information, credible academic references and anything else you feel will help create a richer dialog around the issues.

3 Rules for Ethical Faceoffs:

1. Be Constructive - Try and build on the current discussion in the post. Acknowledge previous points, challenge assumptions, add new information, and form new opinions.
2. Be Respectful - We highly encourage debate and descent. However, we will not tolerate behavior that is derogatory, attacking, or abusive in any way.
3. Be Informed - We ask all users to reference the origins of their facts and information whenever possible.
