Artesania Sorata specializes in alpaca and alpaca products. They spin the alpaca wool by hand, dye it with natural dyes and use the wool to make winter hats, scarves, mittens and mitten gloves. The color combinations, hat styles and designs are original and the knitters are very talented.

They also make wall art--tapestries that include applique and stitching. The images depicted in their wall art are pastoral, images of rural life in Bolivia. The art also expresses many political themes, such as their belief that drinking water is a human right. Sometimes they express their concern about climate change, because the snow capped Andes Mountains are melting.
